W: Have you considered making a studyguid ? It’s a tool you can make yourself to take the stre S out of studying:I’ve been using one since the sta t of last semester, and it has really helped relieve A lot of study pressure.
M:Sounds like just what I need.My mainprob em is that my study folder is full of notes and wor sheets, and is badly disorganized.Idon’t know w lere tO start.
W: OK, well, the main thing is to have everything i the right place. Whatever you’re reviewing, it’s i nportant that it’s arranged for your particular nee ils of that subject, and in the most user-friendly wa r you can. What kind of learner are you?
M: Um. I’m not sure.
W: Well, visual learners prefer using images, pictu es, colors, and maps to organize information. Logi al learners have a linear mind and would ratherand systems. I’m an emotional learner, which means I need to connect to inf rmation emotionally to understand it.
M:Oh, Im very much dependent on vision as a wa of taking in information.
W:Well, 15]Isuggest reorganizing_your notes usi 1lg color-coded sections in your study guides, or usi 1g idea mapping to lay out the information and m ke it more quickly accessible.
M:So you thinkIshould arrange my notes using c lor and pictures in place of text.
W: Yes.You’ll probably start to grasp information a ot quicker that way.As an emotional learner, I org inize my notes into a story that I can connect to an recite to myself.
M: That’s amazing. I didn’t know there were so many different ways to learn.

Passage 2
原文:
A team of「esearchers from the university of Basi I published their new sfudy about people’s atiTEiides tow ards diversity at work. [21J They found that people have a wide range of opinions ccncerrirg diversity On the on e hand, many see value in diversity, which can contribut e a variety ot perspectives, encourage new ideas, and ge nerate innovative solutions. On the other hand, they assu me that it might be difficult to work with someone who h as completely different views, speaks a different languag e or has a different style of work. The actual value they a ttribute to diversity depends on the decision-making per spective. Doubts about the practicability of diversity nav e a greater weight. If a person is directly affected, in oth er words, when a persons own work group is involved, t hey tend to prefer team members who are similar to the mselves. But when people make decisions for others, the y typically put together a more diverse team. These findi ngs could help organizations become more diverse. Com panies need to pay attention to who makes hiring and te am decisions. These decisions should not only be made by those directly affected. People who are not directly in volved in the group s daily work should also take part.
Q19. What do we learn from the current statistics about diversity in large corporations?
Q20. What is the newly published study focused on?
Q21. What do the findings of the new study show?

Passage 1
Questions 26 to 29 are based on the passage you have just heard.
Farmington, Utah, is a more pleasant community since a local girls’ 4-H club improved Main Street. Six 4-H girls worked to clean the 72 foot curbside that was covered with weeds, rocks and trash. Each member volunteered to clean up and to dig in plot, five flats of flowers. They also took terms in watering, weeding and maintaining the plot. Participation in this project helped the girls developed a new attitude towards their parents of their own homes; they’ve learned how to work with tools, and improve their work habits. One mother said that before her daughter was involved in this project, she would not even pour a weed. The experience on Main Street stimulated self-improvement, and encouraged members to take pride in their home grounds and the total community. City officials cooperated with the 4-H members in planting trees, building cooking facilities, pick-me tables, swings and public rest rooms. The 4-H girls planted trees and took care of them during the early stages of growth. The total park project needed more plantings in the following years. Members of the 4-H club agreed to follow the project through to completion, because they receive satisfaction from the results of constructive work. The project is a growing one and is spread from the park to the school and the shopping center. Trees and flowers have all been planted in the shopping center, making the atmosphere pleasant.
Questions 26 to 29 are based on the passage you have just heard.
26. What do we learn about Main Street in Farmington?
27. What do the 4-H club members do about the curbside?
28. What have the 4-H girls learned from the project?

Over 50% of the 12 to 18 years old interviewed say they enjoy reading a lot. 79% find it stimulating and interesting. And 87% think it is relaxing. About 68% of those surveyed disagreed with the opinion that reading is boring or old-fashioned. Over half teenagers interviewed said they read more than ten books a year. The results also show that middle school students read more books than high schoolers. Over 66% of teens like to read fiction, such as novels and stories. Over 26% are interested in non-fiction, such history books.64% of students listed reading stories about people my own age. That’s a favorite topic. Mysteries and detective stories came second on the list at 53%. Just under 50% said they were interested in reading about their own culture in tradition. Of the teenagers who participated in the survey, 49% said that libraries are where they get most of their books. However, many complain that their school libraries do not have enough up-to-date interesting books and magazines. Even though many teenagers in the US enjoy reading, they still have other interests. When asked which activity would be the most difficult to give up for a week, 48% said listening to music. TV would be difficult to give up for 25% of those surveyed.
Question 30 to 32 are based on the passage you have just heard.
30. What does the survey on teenager reading show?
31. What books are most popular among teenagers according to the survey?
32. What activity do teenagers find the most difficult to give up for a week?
Questions 33-35 are based on the passage you have just heard.
Passage 3
Thank you for coming, everyone. Today‘s presentation will show how we see the development of the motor car in the short to medium term, and that is why we have invited all of you here today. Let’s start with power. It‘s clear that petrol-driven engines have no future. Already there are many alternative fuel vehicles on the market, powered by anything from solar power to natural gas. Some independent thinkers have even produced cars that run on vegetable oil. But as we all know, of all these alternative fuel vehicles, the most practical are electric vehicles. Sure, in the past electric vehicles have their problems, namely, a limited driving range, and very few recharging points, which limited their use. Now, however, recent developments in electric vehicle technology mean they can match conventional petrol engines in terms of performance and safety. Let’s not forget that electric vehicles are cleaner. Plus, importantly, the power source is rechargeable, so this does not involve using any valuable resources. Moving on to communications, very soon, cars will be linked to GPS satellites, so they‘ll do all the driving for you. What controls remain for the users will be audio-based, so, for example, you’ll just have to say “a bit warmer”, and the air conditioning will adjust automatically. You‘ll also be able to receive email, music and movies, all via an internet link. So just type in the destination you want, sit back, sleep, watch your movie, whatever. Questions
33-35 are based on the passage you have just heard.
33. What is the presentation mainly about?
34. What used to restrict the use of electric vehicles?
35. What does the speaker say about electric vehicles of today?

A. The woman should go on playing chess。
“Is that any reason to quit?
Mary probably knows Sally’s newaddress。
本题的关键在于听到最后一句“Mary should know it。
B. His notes are not easy to read。
女士想要借笔记,男士说:“You’venever see my handwriting, have you?”“你从没看过我的笔迹吧?”
D. The man had better choose anotherrestaurant。
“rather disappointing”
C. He has been looking forward tospring。
B. The man appreciates the woman’s help。
男士说:“Many thanks forletting me use them。”
B. Go to work on foot。
A. Temporary closing has disturbed the airport’soperation。
“closedfor a while”与选项中的Temporaryclosing构成同义替换。

Section C
Looking atthe basic biological systems, the world is not doing very well.Yet, economic indicators show the world is prospering.Despite a slow start at the beginning of the 80s, global economicoutput increased by more than a fifth during the decade. Theeconomy grew, trade increased, and millions of new jobs werecreated. How can biological indicators show the opposite ofeconomic indicators? The answer is that the economic indicatorshave a basic fault. They show no difference between resource usesthat sustain progress and those uses that will hurt it. Themain measure of economic progress is the Gross National Products --GNP. In simple terms, this totals the value of all goods andservices produced and subtracts loss in value of factories andequipment. Developed a half century ago, GNP helped establish a common way among countries of measuring changein economic output. For some time, this seemed to work reasonably well, but serious weaknesses are now appearing. As indicated earlier, GNP includes loss in value of factories andequipment, but it does not take into account the loss ofnatural resources, including non-renewable resources, such as oil,or renewable resources, such as forests. This basic fault canproduce a misleading sense of national
26.prospering
27.decade
28.opposite
29.sustain
30. Insimple terms
31.establish
32.reasonably
33.take into account
34.misleading
35.using up

" I guess she overheard her grandfather and me talking about how we’re worried about how we’re going to get to Houston, for my grandson’s heart surgery,” said Allred. She decided to go outside and have a lemonade stand and make some drawings and pictures and sell them.”第2题
That’s when Addison and her friends Erika and Emily Borden decided to sell lemonade for 50 cents a cup and sell pictures for 25 cents each. 第2题

Last week, France announced that the country will pave 621 miles of road with solar panels over the next five years, with the goal of providing cheap, renewable energy to five million people. 第3题
Called “the Wattway,” the roads will be built through joint efforts with the French road-building company Colas and the National Institute of Solar Energy. The company spent the last five years developing solar panels that are only about a quarter of an inch thick and are strong enough to stand up to heavy highway traffic without breaking or making the roads more slippery. The panels are also designed so that they can be installed directly on top of existing roadways, making them relatively cheap and easy to install. 第4题
France isn’t the first country to kick around the idea of paving its roads with solar panels. In November 2015, the Netherlands completed a 229-foot-long bike path paved with solar panels as a test for future projects. However, this is the first time a panel has been designed to be laid directly on top of existing roads and the first project to install the panels on public highways.

Lions have disappeared from much of Africa, but for the past few years scientists have wondered if the big cats were hanging on in remote parts of Sudan and Ethiopia. Continuous fighting in the region has made surveys difficult. But scientists released a report Monday documenting, with hard evidence, the discovery of "lost lions."
A team with Oxford University’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, supported by a charity organization, spent two nights in November camping in the National Park in northwest Ethiopia, on the Ethiopia-Sudan border. The researchers set out six camera traps capturing images of lions, and they identified lion tracks. 第6题
The scientists concluded that lions are also likely to live in the neighbouring National Park across the border in Sudan. The International Union for Conservation of Nature had previously considered the area a "possible range" for the species, and local people had reported seeing lions in the area, but no one presented convincing evidence.
A. observe the wildlife; B. identify the reasons; C. study the habitat D. find evidence

Endless fighting in the region. 原文
Q6: What was the main purpose of the research?
To find evidence of the existence of the "lost lions".
Q7: What did the researchers find in the National Park?
